Our Recycled Drain Rock is a sustainable alternative to virgin aggregate, produced from recycled crushed concrete, asphalt and masonry materials. Sized roughly 3/4" x 1/2", it provides excellent drainage and compaction while diverting waste from landfills. Ideal for use in French drains, leach fields, utility backfill, and erosion control projects throughout Napa, Vallejo, Benicia, Calistoga and Fairfield areas.

Common Applications:

  • French drains and subsurface drainage systems

  • Retaining wall backfill and slope stabilization

  • Leach fields and stormwater management

  • Utility trench bedding and foundation drainage

  • Driveway base and recycled aggregate sub-base

Material Specs & Technical Notes

Frequently Asked Questions — Recycled Drain Rock

Q: What is recycled drain rock made from?
A: Recycled drain rock is produced from crushed, clean concrete and masonry materials that have been screened for consistency. It performs similarly to virgin drain rock while reducing construction waste and environmental impact.

Q: Can I use recycled drain rock for French drains or leach fields?
A: Yes. It’s one of the most popular and cost-effective options for drainage systems such as French drains, leach fields, and foundation backfill. Its angular shape promotes excellent water flow and prevents clogging.

Q: How does recycled drain rock compare to virgin Class 2 drain rock?
A: Virgin drain rock (from natural stone) has slightly smoother texture and more uniform color, while recycled drain rock is more angular and variable in tone. Performance-wise, both drain efficiently and compact well for general drainage and utility applications.

Q: What size is recycled drain rock?
A: Most loads consist of mixed 3/4"x1/2"aggregate, though minor variation can occur depending on batch and source yard.

Q: Do you deliver to residential properties?
A: Yes! We deliver directly to driveways, construction sites, and landscaping projects throughout Napa, Vallejo, Benicia and Fairfield areas.

Q: Is recycled drain rock safe for the environment?
A: Absolutely. It’s made from post-construction concrete and masonry, keeping reusable materials out of landfills while reducing the demand for new quarry mining.
